Workability has been operating since 1988 and is solely based in WA. The agency is well placed geographically, being located adjacent to the Perth CBD. As such, we have an extensive knowledge of Perth and the broader metropolitan area.

Our clients want to work. They are not required to do so under "mutual obligation" by Centrelink. They demonstrate comparable productivity levels to the general workforce and are prepared to travel in order to secure employment opportunities.

Once you observe their skills and abilities, their productivity levels as well as their dependability in the workplace, you will be more than pleased with your decision to give a person with a disability a job.

How Much will This Cost?

Workability provides employment placement services and on the job training and support at no cost to the employer or employee.

Our ongoing assistance after placement is available as and when needed.

Individualised Training and Support

Workability staff will attend your workplace and provide individualised on the job training and support for your new employee. When it is agreed that the client has achieved an acceptable level of productivity by you, the employer, Workability will decrease over time our on the job training. However, Workability will at all times be available to discuss any work issues that may arise.

If agreed to by the client, Workability will provide "co-worker" training to your employees. This training will help them to understand the nature of the client's disability and the reason Workability is at your workplace providing training.

This training will assist co-workers to better understand how people with disabilities integrate into the workforce and the possible impact the disability may have on their productivity.

Traineeships/Apprenticeships

Traineeships/Apprenticeships are available in many employment sectors and offer structured employment-based training, combining practical work experience and off the job training with a Registered Training Provider. Upon completion of either the Traineeship or Apprenticeship, the trainees/apprentices receive a nationally recognised qualification.

As an employer, an apprenticeship/traineeship offers long term benefits for you and your industry. Some of these benefits include reduced staff turnover, a better trained and more versatile employee, and an option to pay a training wage (subject to awards).

Financial assistance is also available for employers through the Commonwealth Government. The level of assistance is dependent upon the client commencing either a traineeship or an apprenticeship. For further information on traineeships or apprenticeships please contact the Program Manager at Workability or click on the links to the Department of Education and Training or the Chamber of Commerce and Industry on our Links page.
